My new SONY avr has stopped producing audio for TV programs.  Netflix works great, audio is fine.  However, last night, when I switched back to TV the Netflix audio continued until I shut everything off.  On restart still no audio on TV but Netflix still works, this morning when I switched to TV the Netflix audio stopped.

I had a tech here yesterday after I called my ISP.  He replaced the STB and an HDMI cable and admitted he's not an expert on "these kinds of systems". He tried switching the TV/AVR  inputs to no avail.
I'm not certain what to so next, but I think I will rewire the system using the SONY details first.

Oh, geez. That sounds like a pain in the rear. Unfortunately I have little advice, other than to first check the cables and the connections, but it sounds like that was already tried.

Is there a chance that the TV is not outputting the signal? I suppose the only way to know for sure is to connect the TV to a different amp.

I'm sorry to hear that the installation was a fail, but I certainly understand why it's so difficult to install.

Is there anyone who can help you with the installation?

Much to my surprise, rebooting the TV seems to have solved the problem.  Maybe the SONY AVR and the TV simply lost each other in the maze.
But I am happy so far.  Crawling around on the floor is never easy and I'm certainly glad I don't have to reinstall.  Thanks for your thoughts.

I discovered my to my displeasure the my Sony Blu-Ray player wasn't connecting with the rest of the system.  TV reports no signal.  Saturday was the first time I tried to use it since the the ISP/TV Co. was here in early October when they were trying to solve the audio problem.
Digging deeper, I discovered the repair Tech. switched the HDMI connecting the TV with the AVR from HDMI 1 to 2.  I switched it back and all is now working as it should.  The Blu-Ray A/V reproduction is outstanding.   I wish all problems could be that simple.

The good news  I started wondering about rear surround sound again.  Long story short, I found a 2 man technology company in town that does home theater, TV wall mounts, etc.  They are arriving to put together a plan this afternoon.  Yea!

Now I have a new problem.  Last night I was watching TV and tried to switch to Netflix.  The video switched but the audio remained with the TV program.  I tried rebooting the TV to no avail.  This seems like a system reboot might help but so far no luck.  I'm going to try to reboot all of it, AVR TV and Set top box.

I moved an HDMI cable to the ARC supported input and now all is working again.  TVs show up on HDMI 1 while the Blu Ray player shows on HDMI 3.  Putting a disk in the player switches input to HDMI 3 automatically but I have to manually switch it back to HDMI 1 to go back to TV. I guess that's normal.  Not at all sure how that happened but I guess I did when I was trying to get the Blu Ray player to work.  Ah well.......
It also resolved my Netflix problem.
Have to be a rocket scientist.......
