Rayovac LED downside

I have been using this light to walk the dog late at night, more to let drivers know I'm there than for footing.  2 nights ago I was out with Fido about 10:30 and I hear a truck coming, hell bent for leather.  When he was a couple hundred yards away, I turned on the Rayovac pointing toward the ground.  When the truck got to within about 50 yards, he stopped short and just sat there.  My first thought was   "O crap, now what"  My second thought was "I wish I had my gun".  That went on for about 2 minutes then he came forward at about 5 miles an hour, came abreast of the dog, waved out the window and continued.  Big exhale on my part.

Next time I get close to Home Depot I'm going to get a second to put in the truck, maybe the larger size at 140 lumens.

It was a pickup, road doesn't get many of the "big" varieties, it doesn't go anywhere, a real dead end.  'Bout the largest is UPS or FedEx and of course the Garbage truck once a week.  School bus picks up at the corner and watching it turn around is a sight.

Well, that's a good downside. I guess I'll go get another one or two myself.

BTW: I put Energizer lithium batteries in mine for longer run times and cold weather performance.

Good idea, longer run times more of a benefit, no Colorado cold to worry about.

The model is the Rayovac Indestructible.  There are 2, we have been talking about the smaller, 100 lumen ver.  The larger one is 140 and $10 more.

From what I see there are actually 3.  A 2AA, 3C and 2D versions.  I've not seen the 2D one.

JA, this is hands down the best AA flashlight (LED) that money can buy. I'm sure it's not perfect, but then again it's merely $15.

The flashlight has an excellent, bright beam with a nice spill that inspires confidence. It feels good in hand, it's weather resistant, and it can obviously take a good tumble like an Olympic, gold medal champion.
