Latest iPhone 12 Specs & Prices

It looks like this is what we can expect, with a release date likely after mid-October. The iPhone 12 (5.4") will start at $649, and the iPhone 12 Max (6.1") will start at $749.

Your earlier poast about 5G has significantly diminished my interest in the 5.4" i12.  And the more familiar and comfortable I get with the SE the more I like it.  There are a couple of things I would change, like the Home button, but overall its a better than decent phone.

Before you posted this, I was going to mention a YouTube video I watched last night about what an incredible deal the iPhone SE is. His point was that you could buy an iPhone 11 Pro for $1,000. Or, with the same $1,000 you could buy the following:

1. iPhone SE 2020 ($399, direct from Apple)
2. 7th Generation iPad ($299, Amazon)
3. 38mm Apple Watch, Series 3 ($169, Amazon)
4. Air pods, wired charging ($129, Amazon)

I don't know that I will get an iPhone 12. As far as the list goes, I may at some point buy an iPad and an Apple watch (the latter for my wife). Either way, reality is that for now I am quite happy with the iPhone SE.

The thing I don't understand is why the SE exists.  This much value, at this price is very un-Apple.  New Apple products typically roll how in the Fall.  Why was the SE so different?

I think Apple has always had lower-end entry models, but they were never a good enough value against the Android market until the SE 2020 came around. I was very surprised to learn that the SE has a fingerprint reader and wireless charging, both of which are important to me. The iPhone 12 not supporting a fingerprint reader could potentially be a deal breaker for me.

As I understand it, Apple borrowed heavily from previous designs (iPhone 8 comes to mind), which went far in keeping costs low. I'm not thrilled about having to carry lightning cables around, but overall it's a winner.
