  • The Ghost who walks. Slowly.

One.  Ok, one and a half.

A Pinto.  1976 Pinto Runabout.  Silver, with red trim.  It was the prettiest little car.  Goshawful pretty.
Would not start in cold weather.  Had to jump start it on cold mornings with a 70 AMC Hornet.  Which, is sorta like a boxier Gremlin.
Traded it for a beige and black Mercury Zephyr, in Elkhart, IN - after the horrific Pinto explosion disaster.  That was a neat trick.

Ace; if they'd add the original Neon, then I coulda had a clear victory.  Loss.

  • In an emergency, 9-1-1 calls ME.

Me too. I had a 1976 Pinto station wagon during my first tour in Germany. I bought it for $500, and sold it for the same almost 3 years later.

Mine was powder blue with the cheesy, stick-on "wood" trim. It never blew up, at least not while I had it. I remember it was hooked on starting fluid. I could get it up to 80 MPH on the German Autobahn, as long as I was going down hill with a tail wind. It was the first car I owned with air conditioning. Too bad it never worked.

Scuzzy; it was a foreign car. At least to the Germans.
