The Pilot Light (or tube) Atop My HP Computer Turned Red This Morning

When I turned on my HP s5-1200z Pavilion Slimline Desktop this morning nothing happened at all.
 
Several times I tried turning the power off and on until suddenly the pilot light came on RED, but the monitor did not come on. Alarmed at what this might mean, I turned the power off.

After about ten minutes I tried turning it on again, and after a long pause the computer woke up, pilot was GREEN and everything now seems normal.

Nowhere in my computer's manual, trouble shooting guide, etc. is there any mention of the pilot light going RED. Any insight on this anyone?

I was told by tech support that my problem probably was a symptom of my CRT Monitor going bad. I bought a new LCD/LED Monitor and have not had problem again. Hood a thought?
