Went to Gmail Settings, clicked on "Mail Notifications Off", then clicked on "Save Changes" at bottom

Notifications keep coming. Any ideas?

hoosier. Go to Control Panel and Notification Area Icons and see if Gmail is listed in left column.

Negative, but I did find what I thought sounded like a promising solution here:

Didn't work

Did you reboot your computer after changing the Notification settings.  If not, try it.

Which browser(s) are you using? If you are using more than one, I'd double check the Gmail notification settings in each one. They should all be the same, but you never know without checking.

I reboot every morning. My browser is Chrome73.

I wouldn't want to change browsers just to escape GMail notifications. I can't understand why it's so easy to add notifications, but apparently difficult to delete.

I'm sorry, but I am completely out of ideas. If disabling notifications in both Gmail and in Chrome didn't work, then I can't think of anything else that might help.

Just to clarify... you did turn off notifications in Chrome as well, right? That is the only other possibility I can think of.
