I see MS has a new scanner out, available here in a 32 and 64 bit version.

It is not meant to replace their current offering or other malware programs. The download is only current for 10 days and if you need to run it again after that it would need to be downloaded again. It's more for those times when you have an infected system and you need the help of a clean program to scan and fix problems.

I did download and run the program, it doesn't "install" just runs from the folder you download it to. A quick scan took just under 3 minutes on my clean system. Not sure how it acts on an infected one.
