I presently have 2.0 KLipsch which have a great sound, but the volume control is shot - they a re either too loud or off- well power is still on but no sound. Klipsch discontinued the 2.0 version or I would simply buy another set.
I am interested in hifi quality, not $15.00 tin cans.  I don't listen to a lot of music but when I do I drink E....no that's not right.  But you get the point.
Any recommendations?

  • In an emergency, 9-1-1 calls ME.

Nearly 4 years ago I bought this Genius SW-V2.1 1250 speaker system through Amazon, but it is unfortunately no longer available.

It has been a great sounding system that's taken a lot of abuse. If I could, I'd unquestionably buy it again. I have no idea if the newer "gaming" model is any better, but you can take a look here: Genius GX-Gaming SWG2.1 (note that the ratings are lower)

Thanks, but it seems the new version has a power saving mode that is giving a lot of people fits.  Genius has suggested a pretty flimsy workaround.  I think I will continue my search.  Why is it that the good products or version get D/C?  The Klipsch newer version is $200+/- 2.1 and they get mixed reviews.

Thanks, I was tempted by the Bose until I read several reviews comparing the two, most seemed to believe the Creatives are head and shoulders above the Bose.  I have owned Bose before and always felt they were, like Sony, way overpriced.

You are close, Greensboro NC according to UPS.

EDIT:  Much to my chagrin when I was getting ready to dispose of the packaging I found a second audio cable buried deep in the packaging with the correct connectors for the motherboard.

Speakers arrived yesterday and so far I'm impressed.  Will do a more extensive 'review' in a day or so.  Although I will say I had a minor problem with the Creative audio cable.  The plug for the mobo end had external retaining clips that would not plug in the audio jack.  I used instead the old one from Klipsch.

Most RCA female jacks have a 'collar' that protrudes about 3/16".  The male RCA has 'clips' that slide over and grasp the collar.  The mobo female jack has no collar, and no space around it.  The Creative cable has the 'clips' that prevented the actual jack to slide into the mobo.
