The current version for update seems to also have a McAfee installation component and I didn't see an option to decline, maybe I missed it but I don't think so.  I had already opted out of the Ask dot com  toolbar.  I stopped the upgrade midstream to avoid the headache of getting rid of McAfee.  If there is another opportunity or reminder to upgrade I will look more closely, but this is beginning to smell a lot like CNET, a formerly trusted site.

Yeah, they tried sneaking McAfee down my throat on the last flash update. The check box was marked by default. I unchecked it and the installation was fine.

I got burned by Slimware during an update and ended up with a toolbar (I think it was AVG). After that, Slimware permanently came off my system.
