  • In an emergency, 9-1-1 calls ME.

I'm flustered at the grand mistake that I just realized I made when I installed Windows 10. Apparently I did not pay attention and I installed the 32-bit version on BOTH of my new systems.  ::) The only fix is to do a clean installation on both computers.

Scuzzy; numb skull.

That's unfortunate.  Sounds like you have hours of work ahead of you.

I reinstalled Windows 10 on my system (64-bit this time), and I probably still have another 2 or 3 hours of work putting everything back in its place.

When I unknowingly installed the 32-bit version, it took up about 8 or 9 GB of SSD space. The 64-bit version is taking up about 20 GB. Not a show stopper, but it's worth noting the difference.

Scuzzy; fun, fun.

Everything is back in place. Well maybe 99% back in place, as I'm sure I probably missed something. But all is well and my disk usage is reporting 26.1 GB used.

Next is my wife's computer, which will have to wait a week or two.

Scuzzy; or three.

It took about 6 hours, but I just finished with my wife's computer. I think I got everything, but I wouldn't be surprised if I missed some little thing. Regardless, both computers are now running Windows 10 64-bit.

Scuzzy; next time I'll pay better attention.

She generally does not like change, so she would have been happy keeping Windows 7 the remainder of her life. That aside, she's adjusted to Windows 10 and uses it without complaint.
