It's getting time to replace the spark plugs on my 2006 Subaru Legacy GT. Although it's only a 4-cylinder, it's a turbo charged hot rod that I absolutely love driving. I wish my patrol car had the moxie that my Legacy has.
The car gets lousy gas mileage and anything maintenance related is too expensive. If the dealer replaces the plugs, it will cost $300. About $240 of that is labor due to the difficulty of reaching the plugs.
My neighbor is an unemployed mechanic who does excellent work. So I'll buy the plugs locally for about $50, and he'll do the job for me. I'm sure he'll appreciate the extra cash right before Christmas, and I won't mind saving a few bucks myself.
Scuzzy; I was a mechanic once.
