Techie I know on another help forum highly recommends Cisco Small Business Routers which seem to be a bit more expensive in general but I went to Amazon and there were 8 models shown ranging from $65 to 250.
I  will have to ask the Techie which one is is familiar with.

IIRC you replaced a router not to long ago.  Which one did you select and are you satisfied with the coveage?
I will search to find that thread.

I found the thread on a "new router" and checked out the Router Ranker site mentioned.  It would seem a lot has happened since I looked at routers just a few years ago.  And now there are lots of questions, as usual.
What is the significance of the AC designation?  Is it a class, like N or G.  Are they backwards compatible?

I have one phone, one TV and a Blu Ray player that use the wireless feature.  My primary computer is or will be hard wired.  What class these devices are is unknown.  My now dead Netgear was a N class and it worked with everything wireless I own.

Might there be a suggestion out there?

Getting like JA responding to my own posts.  I looked at the cisco small business one on Amazon with only 8 reviews and 3 stars vs. the Netgear Nighthawk 1900 with 4.5 stars and 3300 reviews.

Any words of wisdom before I order the Nighthawk this afternoon?

Bill, I am very pleased with my ASUS TM-AC1900 router. I got mine free of charge, courtesy of T-Mobile. Obviously I have the T-Mobile version, but it's equivalent to the ASUS RT-AC68R Wireless AC1900 Dual Band router.

I still have my ASUS RT-N66R "Dark Knight" Dual Band N router, which is pretty much in new condition. I only used it for a short while, and then got the free offer from T-Mobile. I will happily ship it to you ASAP if you wish, completely free of charge. Let me know and I can have it in the mail within 24 hours.

The Dark Knight is a solid router, but if you need something immediately then I recommend the ASUS AC1900. If I was buying one today, I doubt I'd think twice about getting another ASUS.

That is q very generous offer and thanks for it.  Truth be told if I could get it this afternoon, I would.
The ASUS  you suggested is looking good and a little less expensive than the Netgear.  But looks to have the same quality reviews and almost the same popularity.  Guess it's decided.  Thanks, again.

It's on the way,  one day shipping was $6.00
