I am finding that if I delete an email from my phone, it is also deleted from Thunderbird on my computer and the ISP server.  I am using the Gmail app on the phone.
Is there a setting in the Gmail app to stop that from happening?  The only thing I see to do is stop sync setting but I find that useful between phone and computer. Or maybe a setting elsewhere?

I meant to answer this sooner, but I'm in the middle of a project. I'm currently on break. :)

Unfortunately I don't have a good answer. To my knowledge there is no way to accomplish what you want. If the accounts are synced, then deletions/additions/etc. are across the board.

I have figured out a work-around. Moving the emails I want to save from the Inbox to a Hold folder seems to protect them.  I haven't created a "hold" folder on the phone and there are no active filters on the phone.  Every new email on the phone goes to the inbox and emptying it should effect the Hold folder on the computer.

Back to the new saw........
