A friend of mine, about 2-3  months ago built an M2 system using a Gigabyte Gaming MB and a Kingston Hyper Predator x4 M2 SSD.  His results were only mediocre performance.  Long boot times, average read and write speeds, and a long shut down.  He was, needless to say, very disappointed with the M2. He ultimately replaced the Kingston M2 SSD with a Samsung 850 Pro (like yours) and put the M2 in the drawer.  He said the comparative performance was noticeably better.

While this is a bit circumstantial, you may have saved yourself a headache.

  • In an emergency, 9-1-1 calls ME.

Good to know, although I'm sorry it worked out that way for your friend. There might be other factors at play, though.

I have not had any regrets about my 2 builds. Both are fast powerhouses that have not disappointed. In retrospect, I believe I got my money's worth.

The problem is (and was) it's new technology and not all motherboards and motherboard bios handle it correctly but I suspect with the new generation boards both Intel and AMD they should (mostly) run as they are intended.. BTW happy Birthday Bill best wishes.
