We're on the south end of this so shouldn't get it too bad, but 3 of our kids will get hit hard: Bomb Cyclone to sock central US...

Wow, sounds like a horrible storm.  I do hope your kids are able to stay safe and will not have any damage.

I just realized that I failed to come back to this. My apologies.

My kids had no problems with the storm. Although where I live we didn't get hit by the blizzard itself, we did get some nasty winds of up to 90 MPH. I got some minor roof damage out of the deal, but nothing near as serious as our neighbor who completely lost his RV car port. It was a total loss.

Glad your kids were spared the headache.

I've often wondered about those carports.  They're all over here, mostly to cover boats, but most don't look very secure. And they are expensive, several thousand dollars.  But we haven't  really a had a good blow for several years.
