I'm set up with another computer to connect wirelessly to the net. It's a Belkin G wireless router. The modem is netopia. Both laptops were connecting easily with no problems until I installed a wireless HP photosmart all in one printer. It hooked up easily and works fine. However, every few days the computers won't connect. We have to disconnect the router and modem, then reconnect and it works okay for a few days. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • In an emergency, 9-1-1 calls ME.

Before upgrading the router's firmware, try doing a hard reboot of all the players. Disconnect the power from the router, computer, modem, printer, etc., for a period of one minute. Then reconnect power and restart items in the following order (allow sufficient time for each product to fully start up before continuing to the next):

1. Modem
2. Router
3. Computer(s)
4. Peripherals (printers, etc)

This will probably fix the problem. If not, then consider the firmware upgrade.

Ok thanks. I'll try the hard boot then if necessary upgrade. This may take a few days so I'll report back later.
